Working Principle

Entry Systems

The Automatic Rake Type Cooling Bed is versatile and can be equipped with various entry systems depending on the product type, size, and rolling speed.

  • Braking Apron – Versatile, medium speed, multiple products.
  • Kick-off – Heavy sections, slower speed.
  • Twin / Four Channel / Rotary Drum – High-speed TMT bar production.

Natural Cooling on Rakes

Bars are placed on rake arms where natural air cooling begins.

  • Rakes move step by step, advancing bars forward.
  • Uniform cooling improves metallurgical properties.
  • Optional Forced Cooling: Water sprays are used for rapid cooling when metallurgical requirements demand it.

Alignment with Rollers

Bars are aligned with the help rollers to ensure alignment during layer formation.

  • Rake movement positions bars precisely.
  • Rollers correct any misalignment.
  • Straightness is imparted gradually.

Layer Forming on Chain

Bars are collected and layered on the forming chain.

  • Multiple bars grouped into layers.
  • Chain system organizes bars for Transfer, Cutting & Counting.
  • Prevents tangling or uneven stacking.

Layer Transfer System

Formed layers are transferred onto the run-out roller table.

  • Transfer mechanism shifts layers smoothly.
  • Run-out table receives cooled, aligned bars.
  • Bars are ready for bundling or further processing.
Technical Data

Turn-over Cooling Bed with Kick-off Mechanism

This equipment is specialized for alloy rounds, RCS, hexagons, flats, and bright bars. The kick-off mechanism transfers single strands of products sized between 100 mm and 200 mm onto the cooling bed. Unlike high-speed systems, this operates at slower speeds (up to 4 m/sec), allowing controlled cooling and straightening of specialty products where metallurgical precision is critical.
